Important Websites

Thank you for all you do at home to help your child succeed! I know it  can be difficult to always find the time to quiz your child on their math facts or spelling lists- so here are websites to help you out!

Spelling City

All of our spelling lists for the year have been added to Spelling City, and I encourage you to allow your child to explore! There are many games that can be played using our spelling list for the week, as well as multiple quiz options. Any extra exposure and practice your child can get will help them to master these words!

Spelling City

  • Click on the Find A List tab
  • Type 'Hunzie' into the search bar and click search
  • Click on Renee Hunzie
  • Scroll down to the story we are covering that week

Xtra Math

This is a wonderful site that will quiz your child on their math facts, which will in turn help them to master their basic facts, pass each level, and enable them to perform more complicated math functions later in life. I can't stress the importance of knowing these facts enough! It really will make all the difference as we move on to more complex problem solving.

Xtra Math

  • Click Sign In in the upper right hand corner
  • You will need my email address- tburrows@lcsd1.k12.wy.us
  • Your student's name
  • Their login number (the number I stuck to the inside of their assignment notebook at the beginning of the year, it is also on their desk, and I can email it to you or write it down again if you need it)

AR Tests

We have some really fun rodeo events planned for our reading rodeo this year- but your child needs to earn those points in order to qualify for the 'buckle clubs' that will allow them to participate! While we do read about 2 points worth of books per week, your student will not be able to qualify for those buckle clubs all the way up to 200 points if they are not reading at home. I recommend 20 min of reading a night, both for the AR points and to advance their skills as readers. While you can not take the AR tests at home, you can look up the test number for your child so that they can easily take the test as soon as they get to school.
